KinkFest

KinkFest 2024 Information

GENERAL INFO

KinkFest 2024 will be at the Portland Expo Center.

You must be 18 or older to attend KinkFest. You do not need to be a Portland Leather Alliance (PLA) member, however, current members receive a discount. If you choose, you may join the PLA when you register for KinkFest.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

KinkFest invites community-based organizations and individuals to organize and host various socials, meetups and group discussions at KinkFest. Submit the Community Space application, if you're interested in hosting an event at KinkFest.

VOLUNTEERING

We need many volunteers to organize and execute KinkFest. The volunteers who organize KinkFest year-round are called "KinkFest Team." KinkFest gives free or discounted admission to KinkFest volunteers depending on the number of hours volunteered. To be an onsite volunteer, you must complete the volunteer application on the website and be accepted. Completing the application does not guarantee a volunteer spot.

GENERAL INFO

KinkFest is at the Portland Expo Center: 2060 North Marine Drive, Portland, Oregon. Maps and directions here: https://www.expocenter.org/maps-and-directions

WHAT TO WEAR

You can wear anything you want within the KinkFest event spaces. However, you must be covered and street legal (vanilla) outsize our event space. Please do not push these boundaries as it may damage our relationship with the venue and hotels. The majority of KinkFest attendees wear more comfortable clothes during the day and kink/sexy outfits during the evening dungeon parties. You will see outfits of latex, feathers, costumes, drag, uniforms, leather, lingerie, totally naked, simply all black and more – it's up to you!

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING

Parking is $12.00 per day which includes in/out privileges. The Portland Expo Center no longer allows RVs to park overnight. You may pay for parking when entering OR pre-pay. There is plenty of parking.

REGISTRATION & CHECKIN

You must pre-register for KinkFest. You CANNOT register on-site at KinkFest. If you are not pre-registered, you WILL be turned away. All workshops, the vendor hall and dungeon parties are included in your registration.

If you lost your confirmation email containing your registration number, a duplicate can be sent by entering the associated email into the "Request Duplication Confirmation" box here: https://www.portlandleather.org/kinkfest/register.php

Bring a government issued photo ID.

We recommend you allow at least 1-hour to get through check-in, especially on the first day of KinkFest.

You will receive a wristband and lanyard when you check-in at KinkFest. You must wear these at all times. If you need to remove your wristband for any reason, return to the check-in desk during open hours with your photo ID AND the old wristband to receive a replacement.

Check-in closes in the evening (check general schedule). You must check-in before the closing time to receive or replace your wristband.

COVID POLICY FOR KINKFEST 2024

You must be vaccinated against COVID-19 with proof of that vaccination. Read the full policy: https://kinkfest.org/covidpolicy2024.pdf

PACKING

Suggested packing list: small bag/backpack, heavy snacks (ideally a lunch), water bottle, comfortable clothes and a warm layer, comfortable shoes, cash, seat cushion, batteries/power pack (limited on-site outlets), clothing repair items, wristwatch (phone not allowed), medications, any workshop specific gear (rope, etc.), and a notebook with pen/pencil (if you don't take class notes, use it for remembering names).

We suggest bringing all your daily supplies with you each day so you don't need to go back to your hotel/home during the day.

FOOD AND WATER

There is a small restaurant, however, they have a limited selection and lines can be long. We recommend packing a lunch, especially if you have dietary restrictions or allergies.

Nearby restaurants are not within easy walking distance and can get full, so give yourself extra time or bring your own food. A map of nearby restaurants is inside your program.

Bring a water bottle! Water fountains are available to refill water bottles.

COAT AND BAG CHECK

KinkFest will have a coat and bag check for a fee. Details on times and prices will be inside your program.

SMOKING & MARIJUANA

Tobacco smoking and vaping is allowed only in designated smoking areas.

Marijuana is not allowed at KinkFest or on Portland Expo Center property. While marijuana is legal in Oregon, it is illegal to consume in a public space. You will need to leave Portland Expo Center property if you intend to smoke marijuana.

Anyone appearing to be intoxicated or mentally impaired may be removed from KinkFest without warning or refund.

KINKFEST SWAG & PIN

You may pick up the free annual KinkFest pin at the merchandise tables at the entrance to the vendor hall along with preferred pronoun pins, hankies, and a range of KinkFest clothing.

HOTELS

Please be respectful of other vanilla hotel guests and staff. Harassing or propositioning behavior may result in your removal from KinkFest.

The KinkFest host hotels will have a shuttle running to the Portland Expo Center. Specific details on hours and drop-off/pick-up locations are printed in your program.

The Marriott hotels are a half mile walk from the Portland Expo Center. If you walk, we recommend walking as a group at night.

Parking MAY be included with your room if you used the KinkFest room block. If you registered outside the block, you may need to pay for parking.

DUNGEON

A limited amount of shelving is available inside the dungeon to store coats and bags. This is not secured or monitored and should be used at your own risk.

There is a "blood / medical play" area meant for any type of play that may break the skin (needles, staples, cutting, etc.). We supply sharps containers and biohazard bins to dispose of blood play supplies. You should bring your own chux / puppy pads (or buy at coat check) and other supplies.

There is a first aid station that has medical supplies and volunteers with first aid training, please visit them if needed.

The Dungeon Monitor (DM) station is next to first aid. DMs enforce the dungeon rules, monitor risk-aware play, answer questions and help facilitate dungeon safety. DMs can help you with scene logistics.

Generally, we supply condoms, lube, gloves, paper towels and wipes throughout the dungeon space.

WORKSHOPS

You do not need to sign up for workshops in advance. All workshops are first-come-first-served. More popular workshops will reach maximum capacity. To be certain you get a seat, arrive at least 15 minutes early to the workshop.

Read the workshop descriptions, which will include warnings about what you may witness. Please exercise self-care, which may include leaving a workshop.

Workshop changes will be posted near check-in and/or inside the workshop hall.

Clothing or another barrier (blanket, sheet, etc.) must be between your naked body and the floor or chairs.

VENDOR MALL

You must be registered for KinkFest to enter the vendor mall. You cannot enter KinkFest for any reason without being registered. We no longer offer "Vendor Hall Only" registrations.

Many vendors accept credit and debit cards, but not all. We recommend bringing cash. There is an ATM, but it can run out of money.

Vendors are a great resource to learn about kinky stuff. They are happy to talk about what you need to make your kinky dreams come true.

COMMUNITY AND OFF-SITE EVENTS

This year we are debuting a dedicated community room. This will allow for quieter and better organized community events/meetups with a variety of groups.

See all KinkFest hosted Community events: https://www.kinkfest.org/community.php

There are many unofficial off-site events that happen during KinkFest, which are often found on Fetlife. If you have questions, please ask the organizers of those events...because we can't help! Attend at your own discretion.

PHOTOGRAPHER

Our official photographer is Mason Rose. They are available for individual or group photos for $20 plus $10 per extra person (cash, Venmo or Cashapp). Details on their available days/times will be emailed to registrants. See their portfolio: https://www.masonrose.photography/

BOOTBLACK / MASSAGE / TATTOO

Bootblacks will be on-site for all your leather care needs, but remember to tip your bootblack!

There will be licensed massage therapists at KinkFest if you need a moment to relax and treat your body. Sign up early on-site (separate cost).

There is a tattoo artist at KinkFest (separate cost): https://www.instagram.com/gomezmaddams

ACCESSIBILITY

Over the years, we have made KinkFest increasingly accessible and continue to improve each year. There are many ways that KinkFest could support you through our Accessibility Team, especially when your needs conflict with the KinkFest Code of Conduct.

Send an email to: accessibility@kinkfest.org

SAFETY – SEE SOMETHING? TELL US.

If you see a safety problem or something that needs to be addressed, please tell us! You can approach any volunteer wearing a KinkFest lanyard or go to the check-in tables. If it's not immediate, you can suggest it in the general survey.
