KinkFest 2023 Information

You must be 18 or older to attend KinkFest.

KinkFest is at the Portland Expo Center: 2060 North Marine Drive, Portland, Oregon. You can see maps and directions here:

Please read the Code of Conduct. It lists the critical rules and etiquette for KinkFest.

You do not need to be a Portland Leather Alliance (PLA) member, however, current members receive a discount. If you choose, you may join the PLA when you register for KinkFest.

Devices that appear capable of recording images, video or audio must be kept OUT OF SIGHT inside all event areas (behind the drape). This includes: cell phones, cameras, tablets, laptops and smart watches. Any lens must ALWAYS be covered with opaque tape. Equipment may be confiscated or destroyed at our discretion. One exception for vendors using a cell phone for credit/debit card transactions.

KinkFest is not a latex or nut free space.

Please be kind! KinkFest is organized by the KinkFest Team volunteers who work year-round to organize KinkFest on top of their normal lives. There are also 150+ on-site volunteers that operate KinkFest during the event itself. Please be kind and patient with the volunteers working to make KinkFest possible. Not everyone will have an answer and mistakes will happen; try to keep positive!

This year we have moved to a quantity-based registration system. We will no longer have date cutoffs for the different registration prices. Instead, a total number of registrations will be available at each of the price tiers on a first-come-first-served basis.

You can wear anything you want within the KinkFest event spaces. However, you must be covered and street legal (vanilla) outsize our event space and when traveling to KinkFest. Please do not push these boundaries as it may damage our relationship with the venue and hotels. The majority of KinkFest attendees wear more comfortable clothes during the day and kink/sexy outfits during the evening dungeon parties. You will see outfits of latex, feathers, costumes, drag, uniforms, totally naked or simply all black – it's up to you!

Parking is $12.00 per day (2022 price) which includes in/out privileges. The Portland Expo Center no longer allows RVs to park overnight. You may pay for parking when entering OR pre-pay by a link that will be sent by email. There is plenty of parking. We will not run out of parking spots.

A rideshare thread will be posted on Fetlife about 1-month out from KinkFest.

The MAX Yellow line (light rail train) comes directly into the Portland Expo Center parking lot, schedule:

You must pre-register for KinkFest. You CANNOT register on-site at KinkFest. If you are not pre-registered, you WILL be turned away. All workshops, the vendor hall and dungeon parties are included in your registration.

If you lost your confirmation email containing your registration number, a duplicate can be sent by entering the associated email into the "Request Duplication Confirmation" box here:

Bring a government issued photo ID and proof of your COVID-19 base vaccination plus 1 booster shot to registration. Full COVID policy is below.

We recommend you allow at least 1-hour to get through registration, especially on the first day of KinkFest.

You will receive a wristband when you check-in at KinkFest. You must wear this wristband at all times. If you need to remove your wristband for any reason, return to the registration desk during open hours with your photo ID AND the old wristband to receive a replacement.

The PLA is currently reviewing their reciprocal organization agreements. If you believe you're a member of a reciprocal organization that has an agreement with the PLA, please reach out to your organization's leadership. Any reciprocal discount codes would be distributed by your organization's leadership to their membership (not by KinkFest).

Check-in closes in the evening (check schedule). You must check-in before the closing time to receive or replace your wristband.

This COVID Policy is subject to change based on guidelines from the Multnomah County Health Department and the State of Oregon. COVID Policy changes will not change the KinkFest Refund Policy.

KinkFest registrations are non-transferable. Cancellations will be refunded at 75% until January 31, 2023, at 11:59pm, and refunded at 50% until March 24, 2023, at 11:59pm. KinkFest will offer full refunds from March 25 to April 7 with proof of a positive COVID-19 test. Please email to request a refund or to donate your registration to cover admission for a work study volunteer.

Attendees at KinkFest must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. KinkFest is defining 'fully vaccinated' as:

  • 1 Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine shot and at least 1 booster shot
  • 2 Moderna COVID-19 vaccine shots and at least 1 booster shot
  • 2 Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine shots and at least 1 booster shot

Attendees who arrive at KinkFest without proof of COVID vaccination will not be allowed entry and their registration fee will not be refunded. Sufficient proof of vaccinated status is a state/federally issued vaccine card, a legible photograph of a vaccine card, or a digital vaccine record. Oregon residents can obtain their COVID vaccination record at Or search online using the state name and "COVID Vaccine Status."

KinkFest strongly encourages wearing N-95, KN-95, or surgical masks during KinkFest. KinkFest will provide surgical masks.

KinkFest will require daily temperature checks. People with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher (as defined by the CDC) will be denied entry and will receive a refund for the day(s) they are unable to attend.

Daily testing for COVID-19 is optional. KinkFest will supply COVID-19 tests for those who wish to use them onsite.

Suggested packing list: small bag/backpack, heavy snacks (ideally a lunch), water bottle, comfortable clothes and a warm layer, comfortable shoes, cash, seat cushion, batteries/power pack (limited on-site outlets), clothing repair items, wristwatch (phone not allowed), medications, any workshop specific gear (rope, etc.), and a notebook with pen/pencil (if you don't take class notes, use it for remembering names).

We suggest bringing all your daily supplies with you each day so you don't need to go back to your hotel/home during the day.

There is a small food court and restaurant, however, they have a limited selection and lines can be long. We recommend packing a lunch, especially if you have dietary restrictions or allergies.

Bring a water bottle! Water fountains are available to refill water bottles.

Nearby restaurants are not within easy walking distance and can get full, so give yourself extra time or bring your own food. At least bring snacks.

KinkFest will have a coat and bag check for a fee. Details on times and prices will be emailed to registrants and listed in your program.

Tobacco smoking and vaping is allowed only in designated smoking areas.

Marijuana is not allowed at KinkFest or on Portland Expo Center property. While marijuana is legal in Oregon, it is illegal to consume in a public space. You will need to leave Portland Expo Center property if you intend to smoke marijuana.

Anyone appearing to be intoxicated or mentally impaired may be removed from KinkFest without warning or refund.

You may pick up the free annual KinkFest pin at the merchandise tables at the entrance to the vendor hall along with preferred pronoun pins, hankies, and a range of KinkFest clothing.

Please be respectful of other vanilla hotel guests and staff. Harassing or propositioning behavior may result in your removal from KinkFest. PLEASE help KinkFest and respect the consent of non-kinky people.

The KinkFest host hotels will have a shuttle running to the Portland Expo Center. Specific details on hours and drop-off/pick-up locations will be emailed to registrants and printed in your program.

The Marriott hotels are a half mile walk from the Portland Expo Center. If you walk, we recommend walking as a group at night.

Parking MAY be included with your room if you used the KinkFest room block. If you registered outside the block, you may need to pay for parking. Current details will be emailed to registrants and posted on Fetlife.

A "dungeon" is a designated play space filled with a variety of furniture meant to facilitate BDSM, kink and sexual play. Many types of BDSM, kink and sexual play are allowed at KinkFest. Please read the Code of Conduct to learn what types of play are not allowed as well as to familiarize yourself with dungeon etiquette.

A limited amount of shelving is available inside the dungeon to store coats and bags. This is not secured or monitored and should be used at your own risk.

There is a "blood play" area meant for any type of play that may break the skin (needles, staples, cutting, etc.). We supply sharps containers and biohazard bins to dispose of blood play supplies.

The dungeon music is curated by our DJs based on input from you. Keep an eye on our Fetlife group page for a thread to suggest songs.

There is a first aid station that has medical supplies and volunteers with first aid training, please visit them if needed.

The Dungeon Monitor (DM) station is next to first aid. DMs enforce the dungeon rules, monitor risk-aware play, answer questions and help facilitate dungeon safety. DMs can help you with scene logistics. If you disagree with a DM, you can appeal to the Head DM on duty but their decision is final.

Generally, we supply condoms, lube, gloves, paper towels and wipes throughout the dungeon space.

You do not need to sign up for workshops in advance. All workshops are first-come-first-served. More popular workshops will reach maximum capacity. To be certain you get a seat, arrive at least 10 minutes early to the workshop.

Read the workshop descriptions, which will include warnings about what you may witness. Please exercise self-care, which may include leaving a workshop.

Workshop changes will be written on whiteboards or digital signage near check-in.

Clothing or another barrier (blanket, sheet, etc.) must be between your naked body and the floor or chairs.

Our official photographer is Mason Rose. They are available for individual or group photos for $20 plus $10 per extra person (cash, Venmo or Cashapp). Details on their available days/times will be emailed to registrants. See their portfolio:

Bootblacks will be on-site for all your leather care needs, but remember to tip your bootblack!

There will be licensed massage therapists at KinkFest if you need a moment to relax and treat your body. Sign up early on-site (separate cost).

You must be registered for KinkFest to enter the vendor mall. You cannot enter KinkFest for any reason without being registered. We do not offer "Vendor Hall Only" registrations.

Many vendors accept credit and debit cards, but not all. We recommend bringing cash. There is an ATM, but it can run out of money.

Vendors are a great resource to learn about kinky stuff. They are happy to talk about what you need to make your kinky dreams come true.

There are many on-site community events during KinkFest that are hosted by various community-based organizations and individuals. While KinkFest supplies the space, we don't closely supervise the event/meetup itself. Events may be anything from meet-n-greets to fashion shows to partner-finder events. You can find these events in the Community section or in your program. Contact if you're interested in hosting an event at KinkFest.

There are many unofficial off-site events that happen during KinkFest, which are often found on Fetlife. If you have questions, please ask the organizers of those events... because we can't help! Attend at your own discretion.

We need many volunteers to organize and execute KinkFest. The volunteers who organize KinkFest year-round are call "KinkFest Team". KinkFest gives free or discounted admission to KinkFest volunteers depending on the number of hours volunteered. To be an on-site volunteer, you must complete the volunteer application on the website and be accepted. Completing the application does not guarantee a volunteer spot.

The Portland Expo Center and our host hotels are wheelchair accessible. We are glad to provide sign language interpreters upon request by emailing Please contact us as early as possible to give us time to best serve your needs. We do our best to accommodate as many accessibility needs as possible.

If you see a safety problem or something that needs to be addressed, please tell us! You can approach any volunteer wearing a KinkFest lanyard or go to the registration tables. If it's not immediate, you can suggest it in the follow-up general survey. We appreciate and have enacted many of your ideas.
